31 Weeks

The longest Dr appointment in history happened today! It took over 3 hours. Needless to say I am not impressed with Drs. Do they not think that the rest of us have productive lives that we live or jobs that we need to get to? They will just let you sit and wait forever!!!

Now that I have vented -- on to the update for the boys:

Baby A - heartbeat is 150 and Baby B heartbeat was 160. Both of the babies are still head down and both are actually facing towards my spine therefore since the back of a head isn't that exciting we really didn't get any good pictures today. Besides the Ultrasound I also had my first stress test today. Baby B is our relaxed baby. No matter what they did to try and raise his heartbeat he stayed calm and content. Baby A on the other hand was all over the place and moving.

Baby B still enjoys being close to his brother and his feet are 100% on Baby A's side. Which explains why I get kicked a lot on my right side. I thought it was all one baby when actually it's both of them kicking each other.

Both are progressing perfectly according to the Dr. I don't show any signs of stress or pre-term labor. The ultrasound tech was pretty impressed that I was only 31 weeks given the size of their heads. To go with the large heads we are still measuring each of the boys heavier than they would be at this point if I were pregnant with just one baby. Baby A weighs 4.6 pounds and Baby B weighs in at 4.8 pounds. They are both around the 77th percentile in weight on a scale for all babies. Needless to say I won't be needing any preemie clothes. I will be returning in 3 weeks for another ultrasound as they want to continue monitoring for pre-term labor. Twins typically go early and given their large size this may increase the odds of delivering early.

Chris and I are closer to being ready. We now have 2 cribs assembled, mattresses purchased, and one crib actually has all of the bedding in it. We are finalizing the names and have narrowed it down to 4 first names. Diapers have been purchased to last us at least a couple of weeks(WOW was that a shock to my checkbook) as well as baby wash, etc. At least if I go early the kids will have someplace to sleep and won't smell. :)

Weather in Orlando has decreased the last few days. The temp today was 30 when I left the house and there has been frost on the ground the last 3 days. Our pool also keeps turning the emergency heat pump on. Looking forward to it warming up as my winter coat can't fit around my belly. "Big girl in little coat". Hopefully we will be back to warmer weather by the weekend.
