Their Personalities...since they can crawl...

The boys are full crawlers at this point and therefore learning all sorts of new things. As most of you know Colston loves tags and strings. So it was no surprise to us to learn that Colston also loves electrical cords! Colston was the first to get his little hand smacked when he almost pulled a lamp over on himself.

Miles has always been a little mischevious. This has really came out now that he can be mobile on his own. He has a few favorite hobbies. The first is to tackle his brother. Colston will be minding his own business reading a book or playing with tags and Miles will crawl on top of him. If they are standing together he will take Colstons hands and push them off the item so he falls. Then he'll rub Colston's head and pull his hair at the end of it. We are forever hearing Colston scream and cry over this and are pulling Miles off of him. Sometimes Colston actually fights back but it is rare. Miles second hobby is to pull himself up on his swing to a standing position and then swing it. Granted this is a great activity for balance and strengthening of his legs. The downsize is that he has fallen on the tile floor and then the swing comes back and hits him in the head. The third activity is that Miles thinks he is a DJ. His initials are MC and now have double meaning. MC gets on his "DJ table" every night and plays for us. This is a laugh and learn table that has a spinning bowl on the top. It is only upstairs so he only gets to play with it once a day. He can't crawl to it fast enough when he gets to his room. When "playing" on the table he holds one hand in the air and looks to make sure everyone is watching him. If Colston tries to get up on the table Miles will frequently lay his entire body over the table to block him. Miles is going to be a handful! Miles is very active -- always moving -- and still loves to rock. We now have a rocking giraffe that he can rock on. It was pretty funny when after rocking one day he crawled in front of the giraffe - took the two handles and flipped him over. Resembled what you do to a cow during a rodeo catch.

The boys went out on the grass crawling for the first time. Neither were sure of it at first. Miles kept making faces since it was crunchy. Colston picked it alot (I guess it's similar to a string). I took some pictures one week since the weather was so nice and it was their first time out!

Paw Paw Surprise!

Just two weeks after I suprised my mom and dad with a visit from Indiana my father decided that "two can play that game". He drove from Indiana to Florida to surprise us so that he could spend time with Miles and Chris since they didn't make the trip up North. He called me on my cell phone while I was heading home from work. This is a normal thing as it's much easier to talk with people on the drive home verses when there are whining kids around. Typically he talks to me until I arrive at the house but this time he said he would let me go when I was at our exit about 10 minutes from the house. I pulled up to our gate to see my Dad standing there!!

It was so nice to spend some time with him. He also got lots of time in with the boys. Although he didn't change any diapers he was very helpful in feeding the boys and helping to put up the chair rail in their bedroom which has been on the "to do" list since last christmas! The boys started crawling just before Paw Paw arrived. They have been getting faster each day. Also a first while Paw Paw was here was the first time the boys took a bath in the big tub. They did very well the first few times but since then Miles has decided it's more fun to be out and crawling so he consistently tries to crawl out of the tub!

We were sad to see Paw Paw go but look forward to seeing him again in just a few weeks for Christmas!
