Happy Halloween

The last week was very eventful for the Crawford boys. I decided to take a surprise trip back to Indiana. Unfortunatly I could only travel with one lap child so both boys could not make the trip. We decided to split them up for the first time in their little lives. Colston traveled to Indiana with mommy while Miles hung out with Daddy for the weekend.
While in Indiana Colston and I kept very busy. We got to visit Stoneybrook Farms with a bunch of cousins as well as immediate family, we met baby Gracie, we went to a dairy farm with Paw Paw Bud, and spent lots of time with Colston's Godparents and family. We also made trips to see Denny and Gale as well as Tom and Lynn. Thanks to Gale and Denny for our Halloween treats. Colston belly laughed on the plane playing with his new monkey blanket.
Colston was a real trooper. Traveling went fine. He was very happy while at the farm until the end when he fell asleep post hayride. :) I don't really think he understood anything at the dairy farm. He did NOT enjoy the 3D film that sprayed water in his face.
Colston brought home a cold as a souvenior from Indiana. He was very generous and shared this with both his mother and his brother. Miles has it so bad today that he sneezed and got apples and blueberries all over my shirt!
The boys have started to move forward with their crawling. We determined that Miles got frustrated when he tried when we were watching but turn your head for one minute and he was headed towards laptops and newspapers on the floor. Funny how that worked. Colston moves forward by trying to do a type of jump now. He doesn't get quite as far as Miles but we know it is only a matter of time before they are both on the move.
We hope you enjoy our Halloween pictures! We decided this year that we would have their pictures taken but no actually go out treating. We'll leave that to next year when they can walk.

8 months old today

I posted so many pictures last time that I really haven't taken many new ones for this post. See what happens -- you stalkers were on me so much that I over-loaded last time. Eight months old today. Man how time flies! The boys weighed in today to mark their 8 month birthday:

Colston = 20 pounds 12 ounces
Miles = 20 pounds 11 ounces

Down to one little pound between them now. Not much has changed since the last post. Colston is getting on his stomach more and moving backwards and Miles continues to roll around. Colston is good at getting stuck under the couch. I try to read books with the boys each night before bed. They pay attention pretty good. Colston likes to eat the books and Miles has to touch them the whole time but they are learning.....

We think that Miles may be getting a touch of something as he has not been his usual smiling self. He's been a little clingy and whines more than normal. It could also be more teeth coming in.

Have you ever wondered how much food and diapers it takes for twins? We average 95 diapers a week and 84 jars of baby food a week. To visualize food I have a picture of food that will last us 2 months below. :)

The weather continues to drop here in Florida and we are LOVING the change of temp. We have been getting lots of things done around the house (pressure washing, putting baby clothes away, etc) The boys have been spending more time out by the pool and the nanny has been able to get more walks in without the heat of the day. I found some cute hats on clearance at walmart. As the pictures show the boys need to grow into the hats as Miles couldn't even see at one point since the hat was covering his eyes.

The boys are lions for Halloween. Pictures to come next week so stay tuned!

Enjoying the Fall weather...

The fall weather is finally hitting Florida so we have been enjoying our time outside with walks on the trail and time by the pool. The boys really enjoy being out by the pool and watching the fountain. Miles started cutting teeth and has caught up with Colston now. They both have two which show up in the pictures if you look close. Both of the boys are navigating via rolling and pushing themselves backwards. It's funny when they get "stuck" and can't go backwards anymore. Miles will find everything on the floor that you leave. He will also try and test his limits with you always followed with a big smile.

We have been trying to get the boys to use sippy cups. Colston likes to drink and then let the liquid drool down his chin. Miles is very particular about which cups he will use and will only use the $12 born free ones. I only have 3 of them and bought them at a garage sale. There is no way I am paying $12 a cup at the store so miles is going to need to learn how to navigate with another brand. You'll see photos after the use of the sippy cups. Notice how wet Colston's blue striped shirt is. This was what was under the bib when we took it off. Both boys are still doing well with the eating schedule. Miles still sleeps until 4 or 5 and then falls back asleep when we bring him down to his swing. Not sure what we are going to do when he reaches the weight limit on the swing.
Miles and Colston are also learning to share. It's funny when you put toys down and they immediatly reach to see who can get it first. Colston also has this sly way of keeping his eyes and head forward but reaching over to steal any toy that Miles has. Miles isn't bothered by this at all. In fact Miles would rather spend his time rolling around the toy area and sometimes on top of Colston. Colston is very patient but will pat Miles to let him know when he has had enough. Colston is still attached to blankets. Frequently after Miles rolls away from the play area Colston will gather up the blanket so he can suck his thumb. It's pretty funny.

Forgive me for the duplicates. I am having computer issues and can't easily remove.
