Paw Paw Bud came to visit for his annual trip down for their birthday. It was super fun with him here. We were able to go to some sales together and pick up some cute things. One of these things was a stick horse. Turns out we have one kid who likes to ride it and another that like to lead it so the fact we didn't have two of them wasn't that big of a deal. Paw Paw was able to spend lots of time with the boys. Although it was very difficult to get a good picture of the paw paw and grand sons together we did try our hardest. No one wanted to stand still long enough! The most entertaining this trip was that he taught them that yellow post it notes were "cheese". Now anytime there are post it notes left around they peel them off and offer everyone "cheese". The boys also were excited one again to be able to play with technology that only Papa allows. They are confused when they try to scroll on mom's computer and the pictures don't fly across the page. The boys also enjoys being able to run around the bed of Paw Paw's new big truck.
In general the boys have really made it to a new level in development. They form sentences now, know a-b-cs, can count to 15 but get a little rusty after that. They can get colors in their second guess but usually not the first. Their second birthday was a small gathering. Just paw paw and Kelly her her kids came over. We had an Elmo cake and the boys took cupcakes to school on their actual birthday. They also transitioned to a new room at daycare on their birthday. We just made the cut off. It took about a week for them to get adjusted but really love it now. In this classroom they focus more on learning of numbers and letters as well as potty training. They ask the boys every 30 minutes if they have to go. (geesh that would get old). Although they haven't went on the potty at school yet -- Miles did got potty at home for the first time about 3 weeks ago. It was probably just a coincidence but we celebrated just the same. Most of the time they tell us AFTER they go.....
Personality of Miles - still our outgoing child. Miles feels the need to say hi to everyone he sees. When I say everyone I mean everyone! I'm surprise by the amount of adults that don't take time to say hi back because they are too busy to notice he is talking to them. Sad really.... Miles' outgoing personality also translates into school. At the St. Patricks' party I was told by one mother that her daughter was Miles' girlfriend however when Daddy picked Miles up the next day he kissed another girl good bye. Miles likes to test his limits alot. The teacher in the new class couldn't get him to sit down for story time for a couple of weeks. Miles also likes to tell us no to see if we are really serious. Miles is still full of smiles and probably giggles more in one day than a normal child does in a month. He is always very nosey -- always wanting to know what's going on. His favorite activity right now is playing basketball.
Colston is still the quieter of the two. He still loves to sleep and as much as I try to prevent it still sucks that thumb when a blanket is around. Colston enjoys coloring and loves to play outside. He loves to collect items in baskets or bags and carry them around telling us he is going bye bye. He also has an obsession with brooms and can often be found sweeping outside. Colston also likes the word no and is our resident whiner. He finds something new to whine about everyday and usually it's a whine about something Miles has done even if Miles isn't in the same room.
At their two year check- ups we learned that Mr. Miles had caught up with Mr. Wayne. Colston weights 27 pounds 4 oz. and Miles weighs 27 pounds. For height Colston is at 34 inches and Miles is at 33 1/2 inches. Colston is at the 50% for both height and weight and Miles is at the 25% for both height and weight.
