Sad days.....and happy days....

I know there has been quite a delay in the post. Chris returned from New Orleans on Mother's Day and we were able to spend some time together before the day was over. Chris and the boys took me out to eat. For mother's day the boys were decked out in mommy clothes. Is it wrong that I made them wear I love mommy outfits on mother's day. Grandma Doris had surgery the day after Chris' return. She pulled through surgery okay but unfortunatly took a turn the following day and passed away. We packed up and headed to New Orleans on Thursday. It was a long drive but the boys did very well. The feeding schedule of every 4 hours was a blessing so that we didn't need to stop as much. We arrived at Dinah's Thursday evening and were able to help a little on Friday to do last minute things. The funeral was very well thought out and a great tribute to Chris' mom. Miles slept during the entire mass and Colston decided he would partake in saying the rosary. He cooed and babbled during the entire mass. Which was very embarrasing for me but added some joy during a rough time. It was so nice to see all of the family. We only wish it could have been under different circumstances. Grandma Doris willl truly be missed. I hate that the boys will grow up without her because she was really amazing. I wish she would have got to spend more time with them but we are thankful she was able to meet them. We left New Orleans on Sunday around lunch. We did have a little excitement on the way home but thankfully in the end did make it home safe. We arrived home around 11:00pm and Monday was my first day back to work from maternity leave. The first week back was a little hard due to lack of sleep. I was VERY happy to come home on Monday night and see the boys smiles. The nanny has done a great job during her first week. The boys smile when she gets there and she does activites with them in addition to doing their laundry and cleaning their bottles which was a nice surprise. Miles only pooped on her once this week and she said Colston was a "little" whinny one day. Seems like she is getting to know them pretty good. After this past week we decided that this weekend would be for relaxation. We took the twins swimming for the first time. It took a minute for them to get used to the water without us holding them but in the end they really enjoyed their floats. I think it wore them out. After about 15 minutes we put them in their bumbo seats with an umbrella so that Chris and I could enjoy the pool a little longer. It didn't surprise me when Colston fell asleep. He looked like he was sunning himself. But when poor little Miles fell asleep and started to slump in his seat we decided it was time for their nap.

Overall the boys are doing well. Getting big as you can see from the photos. Based on the home scales Miles weighs 12 pounds and Colston weighs 13 as of 3 months. Both boys are doing lots of smiling and are general very happy kids. Colston has really started talking more and more. If only we could tell what he was saying. Colston also has really became fond of his brother. He will look at Miles and smile from ear to ear like he understands who he is. We have grown out of a lot of clothes. We started wearing 3 month size when they were about 10 weeks so they aren't too far off the charts. We are doing well with sleeping in our cribs every night. They wake up around 5 or 6 and are ready to start their days. This means they are ready for someone to carry them downstairs and put them in their swings so that they can go to sleep again. It's quite funny. If you don't move them they will lay in their crib and babble talk until you get them so you can't sleep. Each day we are working to do tummy time. Miles isn't too into it and really just lays his head down to rest. Colston gets frustrated enough to actually push himself up. His new trick is that he can roll over from his tummy to his back to get out of tummy time. This started last Friday. After each meal they boys are suppose to stay up for at least one hour before going to sleep. Most of the time this works fine but sometimes I get sidetracked and come back only to find that they have fallen asleep under jungle gyms or in bouncers. It's so hard to be 3 months old!

the last picture is the sweetest I have ever seen. You should find a parenting website or magazine to submit that too!! Adorable!
